Social Action Ministry

The Social Action Ministry  has had a request from Pastor Jack at Rappahannock Regional Prison  for socks.  The socks need to be white crew  socks, however they can have gray toe and heel for men and pink toe and heel for women.  Pastor Jack would like to pick up donations on December 15th. There is a collection box under the coat rack. Pastor Jack, also expressed great thanks for the books and magazines. Social Action will also be collecting calendars and greeting cards to distribute to the area nursing homes as they we delighted to receive last year.

Empowerment Walk

The Social Action Ministry would like to know if anyone is interested in putting a team together to “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” on October 23rd in Fredericksburg. The event raises money to help boost awareness about domestic violence by doing a fun mile walk in high heels. If you are interested, contact Karen Walker.

A Note of Thanks

The Social Action Ministry would like to offer thanks on behalf of the Woodmont Nursing Home Staff. They truly appreciate all of the cards, calendars, and cards everyone donated! The residents really enjoy being able to send cute notes out to their loved ones and pass their free time with beautiful puzzles.

Social Action Ministry

Social Action Ministry is collecting small puzzles and note/greeting cards for local nursing homes. Please place donations in the box under the coat rack labeled “SAM donations.”

SAM is also packing lunches for Micah Ministries on February 8th after worship. If you could help with donations please bring sweet and salty snacks and foil sheets and place them in the SAM box under the coat rack.
