The Apocryphal Jesus

THIS FALL THE ADULT CHURCH HISTORY SUNDAY SCHOOL class will be using a highly acclaimed course from the Great Courses, Professor David Brakke’s The Apocryphal Jesus. The 27 canonical texts of the New Testament are only a tiny fraction of the many volumes written about the life of Jesus, his family, and the apostles. This additional body of literature falls under the category of “apocrypha,” meaning “hidden” or “secret,” and offers fascinating insights into the early Christian world and how different groups understood the teachings of Jesus and the first apostles. See Rich Dunn, Frank or Marcia Wolf for additional information.

St. Peter’s Clean Up Day

We need your help at St. Peter’s Clean Up Day!
Can you spend an hour or two on Sunday, August 25th, between 10:30 am- 2:30 pm organizing and decluttering? We will show you what to do and give you all the tools to do it (although we could use a few people with shop vacs or pickup trucks), we just need your helping hands to make the load lighter for everyone. Did we mention lunch is included? Please RSVP to Stacy Novak at so we know how much food to prepare.

Blessing of the Backpacks

August is here! For many families that means school is just around the corner! Shopping for school supplies, books, and fall clothes becomes a part of everyone’s schedule. Here at St. Peter’s, on Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11, we want to celebrate and bless the beginning of another school year. Students, of all ages bring your backpacks or lunch boxes to worship and we will lift up children and students of all ages, dedicating them to God’s glory as we begin a new school year.
Teachers, aides, principals, administrators, secretaries, cooks, librarians, janitors, and bus drivers…come to church to be blessed, affirmed in your vocation, and encouraged as you serve children and families in your daily work!
